THE SCHOOL STAFF

In this special school in the juvenile prison in Volos the problems that we face are many and, of course , that is because of the particularity of our students.
First of all, we are daily confronted with the disturbances in their psychology, since whether they feel good or not depends on the result of their juridical fights. After a bad court decision they are withdrawn and feel lonely. They tend to be silent, deeply concerned with their penalty, completely out of touch with reality and that makes it very hard for other people to approach them. These people are so vulnerable that whenever something bad happens to their family or they lose someone they love they get torn. Moreover, they might miss school at big intervals before and after their trials.
Finally, the low self esteem of these guys makes us, the teachers of the school , try to come up with solutions to this problem. That is why we try to think of any kind of activities other than the ones within the school programme. That is how the kids’ love for the theatre arised.
Finally, we hope that we will accomplish to cope with all the problems that we are going to face in our way and that we will be able to offer to these children ,who try to survive behind the bars of prison , the opportunity of realising what they really deserve in their life and try their best to get it in order to make it and see a different day when the sun is going to rise for them, too! A day that will fill their eyes with the bluest sky!
